When do I pay for my studio time?

You pay 20% of the total cost at the time of booking. The remainder of the balance (80%) is due no later than your first booking session. The 20% deposit is non-refundable.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

You can cancel your reservation up to 72 hours before your reserved time. However, please note that we will not be able to refund your 20% deposit. If a cancellation, within the 72 hour deadline, is made after you have paid your remaining balance we will arrage the necessary reimbursement at the time.

Does the Cancellation Policy apply if the studio time I book is less than 72 hours away?

Yes. If you reserve studio time less than 72 hours from use then you are subject to the Cancellation Policy.

What if I change my mind on the rehearsal time I have chosen?

You may contact us and make changes (add time, subtract time, change date) to your reservation as long as you do so more than 72 hours before your reserved time. Less than 72 hours before your reserved time is subject to the Cancellation Policy. The ability to make changes is subject to studio availability.

How do I pay for my studio time?

Upon reserving studio time we will email you an invoice for the 20% non-refundable deposit. You will then have up to five days to make this payment, preferably by check. If you fail to pay within the five day deadline your booking will be open to other reservation requests. Final payment will be made no later than the first booking session. Checks can either be mailed to us (our mailing address is listed at the top of the invoice) or your can drop them off at our office during regular workday hours (9-5, M-F).

What about paying with a check?

We prefer payment by check. All checks should be made out to The Directors Studios. Presently we are not able to accept credit card payment.

Who do I contact if I have trouble with the site?

Please call us during the day at 612-746-1372 and someone on our staff will do everything to help you.

What happens if there is a conflict with another renter?

We are constantly looking at the schedule to make sure there are no conflicts, but should one unfortunately happen, we have someone onsite during all hours to handle the situation.

What is the flooring in the studios?

Both studios have completely new flooring. Studio A is a sprung floor covered with marley. Studio B is a bounce floor with a smooth wood covering.

How much time is given to load in and break down?

You will have only your scheduled block of time to set up and break down your equipment. You will most likely be booked back-to-back with other renters, so please be courteous and keep your load in, rehearsal, and strike within your scheduled block of time so everyone can stay on schedule.

Is there security on site?

We are situated in a generally safe area of Minneapolis. Starting at 5pm each night, we will be locking the interior door. Someone on staff from The Directors Studios is always onsite from open to close each day. The parking lot is also fully lit at night and parked cars can be seen from the main entrance door.

Is there anything we’re not allowed to bring in to the space?

No street shoes on the Marley floor in Studio A. We need to protect the floor from getting damaged. Also, we ask you not bring in any large scenery. Props & some furniture may be acceptable. However, it needs to be cleared at the conclusion of your reserved time.

What if we’re a rock band?

We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if we think you’re either going to interfere with someone else’s rehearsal or damage the premises. If we cancel your reservation we will give you a full refund, regardless of timing conflict with the Cancellation Policy.

Any friendly guidance you can give?

This is a place by us and for us, so let’s be professional and respectful of each other! You should arrive about 5 minutes before the start of your rehearsal to make sure the space is cleaned out and ready for your work. We want you to have a productive session.
